Markets finish with losses again as Sensex crashes 175 points

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the equity markets saw another day of selling pressure as Sensex and Nifty lost half a per cent, by the time it trading closed for the day.

30-share BSE Sensex lost 174.95 points to close on 33,053.04 and the broader 50-share NSE Nifty lost 47.20 points to finish trading on 10,192.95.

The Street experienced a volatile day of trading as the benchmark indices started in the red before erasing them as Sensex went up by as much as 175 points to hit the intra-day high of 33,404.26. But stock market failed to consolidate on the spurt and led by selling of PSU bank scrips, ended up closing on a negative mood.

All the sectoral sub-indices finished in the red zone with bank,metal and pharma stocks bleeding the most.
